# ERROR WHEN GENERATING THE LABEL: THE TRACKING NUMBER INFORMATION DOES NOT MATCH THE ORDER INFORMATION

You are trying to generate a label to ship an order, but you receive the following error:

"*The tracking number information does not match the order information."*

 

This error is usually caused by one or more products in the order working with a serial number (which you can check in the "additional fields" tab of the product sheet), meaning that the **serialNumbersEnabled** option is enabled for these products:

But you are not using the control\_picking feature when generating the label, which causes the error message. However, the use of serial numbers must be accompanied by the use of control\_picking, because control\_picking is what allows the shipped serial numbers to be verified and recorded.

 

✅**Solution:**

You need to disable the serialNumbersEnabled option on the products concerned, or else use control\_picking if you want to keep using serial numbers.
