# ERROR WHEN IMPORTING A CSV FILE: THE UPLOADED FILE IS NOT A VALID CSV

You are trying to import a CSV file, to create products for example, but you receive the following error at the time of import:

*"The uploaded file is not a valid csv"* 

 

This error indicates that your file is not configured correctly and does not meet the configuration criteria for file import. 

 

✅**Solution:** several things can cause an error here. 

 

**1**. First, check the **column separator selected**. The selected separator must be the same in the file and in the interface before import.

 

**2**. Then, check that the column headers are exactly the same as in the example file provided in the tutorial corresponding to the operation you are trying to perform. The headers must be strictly identical to those of the example file. 

 

**3**. Finally, check that your file does not contain any special characters.
