RECORD A RETURN WITH THE PDA (IN ADVANCED WAREHOUSE)

This feature is part of returns management on the PDA

It allows you, when you receive a returned order in Shippingbo, to record the return and quickly put the returned products back into stock using your PDA.

This first part will explain how to record the return of the products of the returned order via your PDA.

Avantages de la fonctionnalitรฉ.gif

  • Enhanced traceability: Precise history of returned items, with reasons and statuses entered directly on the PDA.
  • Real-time update: Stock automatically adjusted as soon as the return is validated in the system.
  • Fewer errors: Instant identification of returned products, avoiding confusion or duplicates.
๐Ÿ“ข Warning:
This feature is only available if you have subscribed to the  Returns management option and to the  advanced warehouse option. You must also use your PDA.

1. Create the return in Shippingbo

Step 1: In the Shippingbo interface, go to the details of your order to create the return:

Step 2: In the order's Return tab, click on Add.

Step 3: Fill in the desired fields, then click on Validate.

๐Ÿ’ Note:

If you manage reasons, you can predefine reasons for returns management via the following tutorial: Assign reasons in Shippingbo.

The return is created in the order and you can click on the id of this return to go to it (or in the Returns management menu in the sidebar).

2. Receive your return on the PDA

In your return, you will find a barcode at the top right of the screen corresponding to the return id.

๐Ÿ’  Note:
You can click on the barcode to print it and stick it on your return while you process it.

๐Ÿ’ Note:

There are also other ways to identify your return: via the parcel id in the shipment tab of your order, or via the parcel number visible on the return label of your order. For example for Colissimo:

Step 1: On your PDA, go to the Order returns menu.

Step 2: Then go to the Returned products check menu

๐Ÿ“ขWarning:

For these menus to be usable, you must first create locations defined for returns: Configure a usage for a location.

Step 3: Scan your return id (barcode shown previously)

The PDA displays in the Expected tab all the products of the order and in the Processed tab the products that you have restocked or not put back into stock for various reasons: sent for repair, recycled, thrown away, etc.

Step 4: Scan your returned product

๐Ÿ’ Note:

If you manage serial numbers and the returned product is configured for serial number management, you will then be asked to scan this serial number for each unit of the returned product.

You will therefore need to process the return by scanning the product unit by unit.

Step 5: If the product is restockable, scan the name of the return location. If the product is not restockable, click on the Not restockable button.

In the interface, the return will be marked as Returned and you will be able to view the details of the returned products.

Here the products are placed in the location used for returns. They are not yet restocked. To restock these products, you can read the related tutorial: Restock returned products with the PDA.

๐Ÿ’ Note:

You can use the same location used as a Return bin to process several different returns.

๐Ÿ’ Note:

If you start the restocking from the interface, you will not be able to continue it on the PDA because at the end of the restocking in the interface, the return is marked as Returned and the return id is no longer valid on the PDA.

3. Find your actions in an export

You can find the products not restocked during your receptions in the menu:  Configurations -> File management -> Exports -> Products not restocked during a return.

You will find the following information there: id of the returned orders, id of the return, id and SKU of the returned products, reasons, users who recorded the return and the date the return was created.

If you are using a Multi-Shippingbo setup, it is possible to create a return from the OMS and propagate it to the WMS so that it is processed there directly, see: Returns management in Multi-Shippingbo.

โš’๏ธ Recommendation:

Before fully using the feature described in this tutorial, we strongly recommend running a test phase with your own settings to check that the result matches your expectations. As the customer remains fully responsible for the actions carried out in the Shippingbo account, these tests are essential to use the tool with complete peace of mind.
