Prerequisites - This feature is available from the **Expert+ Pack**. - Having already enabled the PCB option and followed the steps of the dedicated tutorial: **[ENABLE PCB](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/activer-le-pcb?hsLang=fr)**.   ### 2. Why add logistic units in Shippingbo? #### 2.1 Definitions of terms In logistics in general, we speak of Par-Combien (PCB) containing Sous-Par-Combien (SPCB) which themselves contain Sales Units (UV). *For example*: a carton (PCB) containing ten packs (SPCB) of six water bottles (UV). To keep things simple, Shippingbo makes no distinction between the different PCB and SPCB levels. - In Shippingbo, the PCB option lets you manage logistic units (UL) and consumer sales units (UVC) within your product catalog. You can arrange your logistic units in a hierarchy however you like, with as many levels as you like. - In Shippingbo: - **UVC** : stands for Consumer Sales Unit: the basic packaging of a product, i.e. the unit that the consumer can purchase separately. *For example: a bottle of sparkling water. ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-May-02-2025-09-11-04-7729-AM.png?width=38&height=122&name=image-png-May-02-2025-09-11-04-7729-AM.png)* - **UL** : stands for “Logistic Unit”. A Logistic Unit contains several consumer sales units or several other Logistic Units. You can therefore define, within your product catalog in Shippingbo, which products are packaged in logistic units, and which ones. Adding logistic units to the product #### 3.1 Adding logistic units manually - Once logistic units are enabled in the product sheet, in the new tab **Logistic units**, you can manually add logistic units (UL) by clicking on **Add a logistic unit**: ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Jul-01-2026-12-33-38-1418-PM.png?width=670&height=286&name=image-png-Jul-01-2026-12-33-38-1418-PM.png) ➡️ In these different fields you can define: the **name of this logistic unit** (UL), **how many units** of the Product this logistic unit corresponds to, the **color code** of this UL (which only defines the color of the UL in the interface, to customize navigation on the PDA), as well as the **weight and dimensions** of the UL. ⭐ **Key point:** - The logistic unit reference is **not mandatory**. But if you enter a reference, the supported barcodes are either EAN13 or EAN14. - It is not possible to have serial numbers and logistic units on the same product. - **The EAN of the logistic unit must be different from the EAN of the UVC.**   #### 3.2 Importing logistic units - Go to the menu **Configurations** -\> **File management** -\> **Import** -\> **Logistic units:** **![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-14-2024-08-19-22-1513-AM.png?width=654&height=308&name=image-png-Oct-14-2024-08-19-22-1513-AM.png)** - Click on **Import a file**, select the action "Create" then download the sample file: ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Oct-14-2024-08-20-19-6463-AM.png?width=661&height=269&name=image-png-Oct-14-2024-08-20-19-6463-AM.png) - Fill in the file with the requested information:  \- Column A "*product\_id*": ID of the product concerned. \- Column B "*designation*": give it the name you want. \- Column C "reference": the reference of the logistic unit that must be scanned. \- Column D "quantity": desired quantity of UL. \- Column E "reserve\_picking\_enabled": here, enter "***true***" if you want to enable reserve picking for this unit; otherwise, enter "***false***".  \- Column F "product\_logistic\_unit\_id": ID of the UVC  (or of the UL in which the quantity is expressed).   ### 4.
