# CARRIERS - CONNECT SHIPPINGBO LABEL

## Generate generic or customized shipping labels via API for your specific carriers and your internal logistics

#### **Benefits of the feature ✨**

- **Logistics autonomy:** Lets you manage your shipments from your third-party system while delegating label generation to Shippingbo.
- **Transport compatibility:** Adapts to heavy-freight carriers (P30), dedicated fleets and intra-logistics flows without a native connector.
- **Flexible notifications:** Transmits shipping orders to carriers in EDI format, CSV file or API request.

### 1. Prerequisites

- This feature requires the involvement of our technical teams. Please contact them [here](https://support.shippingbo.com/?hsLang=fr) to request activation.
(((Follow the associated connection tutorial: **[https://app.tettra.co/teams/shippingbo/pages/sbo-label](https://app.tettra.co/teams/shippingbo/pages/sbo-label)**

  More info on: **[https://app.tettra.co/teams/shippingbo/pages/etiquettes-sbo-labels](https://app.tettra.co/teams/shippingbo/pages/etiquettes-sbo-labels)**)))
- For P30 carriers using SSCC codes (Mazet, Dachser and Heppner), you need to have a valid GS1 prefix.

### 2. How Shippingbo Label works

The connector **Shippingbo Label** (`SboLabelByApi`) allows you to print complete shipping labels without going through a native carrier integration.

➡️ Your external tool handles the choice of carrier and shipping service, then sends this data to Shippingbo, which generates the label and returns the tracking number.

#### 2.1 Main use cases

- **Internal logistics:** Ideal for identifying intra-warehouse flows and the transfer of handling units.
- **P30 carriers (30+ kg / pallets):** Suited to carriers such as Dachser, Mazet or Heppner to display transit information: department, number of parcels/pallets, branch and receipt number.
- **Own fleet:** Lets you print labels for your own delivery rounds.

**💬 Good to know:**

Shippingbo Label labels reproduce **all the visual standards of traditional carriers**. They are **recognized across the entire logistics chain** as long as the carrier accepts generic labels.

#### 2.2 Label elements and barcodes

**Labels and slips**

In this category, many fields let you customize the content of the generated labels, in particular:

- **Reference on the label**: Shippingbo order ID (*sboorderid*), Original reference (*origin\_ref*), Source reference (*source\_ref*), Shipment ID (*consignment\_id*), Parcel ID (*package\_id*);
- **Choice of the Shippingbo Label language**: choose between French, English and Spanish.

**Parcels and insurance**

- **Disable insurance**: avoids charging for parcel insurance if you do not need it for this service, avoiding unnecessary fees.
- **Order value above which insurance is triggered (in cents)**: if you have an insurance contract, insurance is added if the order price is higher than the value entered in this field.

**International shipping**

- **Incoterm (e.g. DAP)**: defines whether the seller or the buyer bears the customs costs, essential for automatic customs compliance.

**Preparation and shipping**

- **Pallet mode**: lets you dedicate the service to pallet shipments.

**Shipping address**

- *Add an address*: defines the sender address used on the labels generated by this service, essential if your warehouse differs from the billing address.

➡️ By default, the shipping address is the one entered in **Configurations** \> **Account**:

  ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Sep-16-2026-01-12-35-7707-PM.png?width=670&height=320&name=image-png-Sep-16-2026-01-12-35-7707-PM.png)
  Field **Address** in **Account information**:

  ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Sep-16-2026-01-11-52-4828-PM.png?width=670&height=485&name=image-png-Sep-16-2026-01-11-52-4828-PM.png)

**Shipping addresses by order origin**

- **Address by origin**: lets you ship from a different address depending on the origin of the order (whatever it is: Amazon, Shopify, ...), particularly useful for multi-warehouse or partial dropshipping.
    - This address takes precedence over the carrier service's default address, ensuring that each sales channel uses the right sender address without manual configuration for each shipment.
    - As a reminder, the order of priority of shipping addresses is: address by origin in the carrier config → address by global source/origin → carrier service address → Shippingbo account address.

➡️ More information on this order of priority in the dedicated tutorial: [PRIORITIZATION OF SHIPPING POSTAL ADDRESSES](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/priorisation-des-adresses-postales-dexpedition?hsLang=fr).

#### 2.3 Transmission of shipping orders

- **EDI (Dispor 3.2):** Generation of a summary file dropped via FTPs/SFTP, creating the transport slip for the driver.
- **CSV file:** Generation of loading files (used notably for dedicated fleets).
- **API calls:** Direct notification to the carrier via web service.

**⭐ Key point:**

**The connector does not call an external carrier server when generating the label**: it relies exclusively on the shipping information you send it during your API call.

**💡 Tip:**

For freight transport, you can **combine the SSCC code for the pallet and the code 128 for** parcel tracking in order to ensure **full traceability**.

### 3. Activating and configuring Shippingbo Label

#### 3.1 Configuration on Shippingbo

Please request activation from our technical teams [here](https://support.shippingbo.com/?hsLang=fr).

(((Follow the associated connection tutorial: [**https://app.tettra.co/teams/shippingbo/pages/sbo-label**](https://app.tettra.co/teams/shippingbo/pages/sbo-label))))

#### 3.2 API call from your system

From your external tool (ERP, OMS, POS), make an API call to Shippingbo including in the payload the order details as well as the section on shipping information (carrier, service, weight, recipient). Shippingbo will return the label document in the desired format as well as the tracking number.

 ▼

### 4. Practical example

A distributor ships heavy pallets via a P30 carrier. Its ERP determines the carrier and assigns a transport plan. The ERP contacts Shippingbo via the Shippingbo Label API: Shippingbo generates the pallet label containing the SSCC code and the routing block in reverse video. At the end of the day, closing automatically generates the Dispor 3.2 EDI file dropped on the carrier's SFTP and prints the delivery slip for the driver.

**⚒️ Framework and responsibilities:**

Before fully using the feature described in this tutorial, we strongly recommend running **a test phase** with your own settings to check that the result matches your expectations. As the customer remains **fully responsible** for the actions carried out in the Shippingbo account, these tests are essential to use the tool with complete peace of mind.
