Prerequisites This feature does not require activation by Shippingbo support, you can configure and use it entirely on your own. The other prerequisites are: - Have an administrator account on Shippingbo to edit user profiles and logistics settings. - Use picking control during your packing steps. - Have a working barcode reader in the warehouse to scan the managers' badges.   ### 2. How the manager validation code works The manager validation code introduces a security barrier at the packing step. When a standard operator encounters a situation requiring a control step to be forced or skipped, the system blocks the screen and requires a manager to step in.   #### 2.1 Standard operator behavior When preparing orders, if the operator clicks the "Skip picking control" button, a modal window instantly appears in the middle of the screen. This window blocks any further action and asks for a manager authorization code to be entered or a valid badge to be scanned.   #### 2.2 Manager intervention To unblock the situation, the manager must: 1. Go to the operator and carry out the visual and physical check of the parcel. 2. Enter their personal secret code of at least 6 characters on the operator's screen \*\*OR\*\* directly scan the barcode printed on their badge. Once the code is validated by Shippingbo, the modal closes and the operator can finalize the preparation of the parcel.   **💬 Good to know:** The screen lock ensures that no non-compliant order leaves the warehouse by mistake without a manager's approval. **⭐ Key point:** Each manager validation is recorded in the system, ensuring perfect traceability of the corrective actions carried out in the warehouse. **💡 Tip:** Printing the validation barcode and sticking it on the manager's physical badge allows ultra-fast unlocking on the floor with a simple scan of the barcode scanner.   ### 3. Activating the manager validation code To set up this security in your warehouse, follow the configuration steps below: #### 3.1 Step 1: Enable the permission on the Manager profile 1. Go to the menu **Configurations** \> **Users** \> **Profiles**. 2. Edit the relevant profile (for example: Team leader / Manager). 3. Check the option **"can perform manager validations"**. 4. Click on **Save**.   #### 3.2 Step 2: Set the personal secret code and print the barcode Each user attached to this manager profile must configure their own access: 1\. Click on your avatar/name at the top right of the screen, then go to **My profile**. 2\. In the section **"Validation code"**, enter a secret code of at least 6 characters. 3\. Click on the button **"Print validation barcode"**. 4\. Cut out and stick this barcode on your professional badge or your work support.   #### 3.3 Step 3: Enable the restriction at packing 1\. Go to **Configurations** \> **Logistics** \> **Logistics**. 2\. Go to the tab **Packing Picking Control**. 3\. Enable the following options: - **"Generate a parcel label (instead of a carrier label)"** - **"Can skip picking control"**   ### 4. Practical example An order picker scans the items of a parcel but notices that a product is missing from the shelf. So as not to block their packing line, they click on the "Skip picking control" button. The screen of their packing station freezes immediately, displaying a manager validation request. The team leader comes over, checks the stock discrepancy at the location, then scans the barcode stuck on their badge. The screen unlocks instantly: the picker can print their parcel label and move on to the next order while the manager adjusts the stock.   **⚒️ Framework and responsibilities:** Before fully using the feature described in this tutorial, we strongly recommend running **a test phase** with your own settings to check that the result matches your expectations.
