# MULTI-WAREHOUSE AUTHORIZATION ROUTING MAPPING

## This mapping lets you split orders containing different types of stock into several sub-orders. It then directs them to the appropriate warehouse according to the defined rules, in order to optimize order preparation.

### **Benefits of the feature ✨**

- **Order management optimization**: Sub-orders are automatically directed to the right warehouse, ensuring smooth management.
- **Fewer errors**: Orders are split and directed according to stock availability in each warehouse, thus reducing processing errors.
- **Improved delivery times**: Products are prepared where the stock is already located, which speeds up fulfillment times.

### 1. Prerequisites

- Feature available for Shippingbo Packs working in **Multi-Shippingbo** and  **Advanced warehouse**.
- Use the **stock type mapping feature**.

### 2. How does the multi-warehouse authorization routing mapping work?

The **multi-warehouse routing mapping** is based on splitting orders into sub-orders when several stock types are present in an order. The rules configured in the mapping define which warehouse each stock type must be directed to, ensuring that sub-orders are prepared in the warehouse that holds the required stock.

This feature includes a **default value selector** to determine the routing method, thus enabling positive or negative rules to route an order to several warehouses based on order lines.

- **Positive rule**: Explicitly allows routing orders to several warehouses based on stock availability.
- **Negative rule**: Blocks automatic routing if certain conditions are met (example: stock type not compatible with certain warehouses).

*Example:*
An order containing “New” and “Second-hand” products will be automatically split. The “New” products will be directed to the corresponding warehouse, and the “Second-hand” items to another dedicated warehouse.

💡 **Tip**: Make sure your warehouses are properly configured with the right stock types so that the mapping can work effectively.

### 3. How do you enable the multi-warehouse routing mapping?

**Access your OMS account**

- Go to the menu **Configurations** -\> **Logistics** -\> **Stock type for orders:**

- Click on **Add**, then select:
\- **Yes** if you want to explicitly allow routing orders to several warehouses based on stock availability.
\- **No** if you want to block automatic routing if certain conditions are met (example: stock type not compatible with certain warehouses).
- Then click on **Add a condition** to define the criteria of your rule:

- Once your criteria have been added, don't forget to enable your rule by clicking on **Enabled**, otherwise it will remain inactive by default:

### 4. Practical example

**Context**:

You are an e-merchant specializing in the sale of clothing and accessories, with several warehouses at your disposal: one for new items and another for second-hand items. You regularly receive mixed orders containing both new products and refurbished products. You have a dedicated warehouse for each stock type (new products, refurbished products, etc.). You want to optimize order preparation by directing each type of product to the warehouse where it is available.

**Using the feature**:
By configuring the **multi-warehouse routing mapping**, you define routing rules based on stock types. For example, you configure a rule that sends all new products to warehouse A and refurbished products to warehouse B. In addition, with the option **default value selector**, you define a positive rule that allows orders to be routed to several warehouses if the products belong to different categories.

**Result**:
When a customer orders a new T-shirt and a refurbished bag, the system automatically splits the order into two sub-orders: one for the T-shirt, which will be prepared in warehouse A, and another for the bag, which will be processed in warehouse B. Thanks to this optimization, you reduce stock management errors, save time on order preparation, and can ship items faster.

**⚒️ Framework and responsibilities:**

Before fully using the feature described in this tutorial, we strongly recommend running **a test phase** with your own settings to check that the result matches your expectations. As the customer remains **fully responsible** for the actions carried out in the Shippingbo account, these tests are essential to use the tool with complete peace of mind.
