# OMS PARTIAL ORDER REROUTING

## Optimize the rerouting of your remaining order lines without blocking shipments that have already been committed.

#### **Benefits of the feature ✨**

- **Logistics flexibility:** reroute only the modified or unshipped items without canceling shipments in progress.
- **Omnichannel continuity:** integrate item changes (POS/Retail) in real time, even on partially processed orders.
- **Increased automation:** handle warehouse rejections and errors in a targeted way without heavy manual intervention.

### 1. Prerequisites

This feature is available provided that the following conditions are met:

- Have an account **Shippingbo OMS Supervision** connected to **multiple WMS**.
- Connected resellers must allow items to be modified on existing orders.

**🚩 Special case:**

**Partial rerouting** is **automatically disabled** if the order contains mapped products using **stock types**. In this case, the historical rule applies: all warehouse orders must be cancelable to allow rerouting.

➡️ More information on stock types in the dedicated tutorial: **[DIFFERENTIATED STOCKS IN LMS](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/mapping-des-stock-differencies-en-lms?hsLang=fr)**.

### 2. How partial rerouting works

In a multi-warehouse OMS configuration, a customer order is split into several **warehouse orders**.

Historically, if a single warehouse order could no longer be canceled (for example, already shipped), any modification or rerouting was blocked. With **partial rerouting**, Shippingbo preserves the non-cancelable lines and re-injects only the remaining or cancelable lines into the routing engine.

#### 2.1 Key concepts and cancelable status

A warehouse order is considered **cancelable** depending on its logistics status:

- **Always cancelable:** *Routed*, *To prepare*, *Awaiting stock*, *Awaiting payment*.
- **Cancelable by option (reseller setting):** *Preparing*, *Sent to logistics*, *In error*.
- **Split order:** cancelable only if all of its sub-orders are cancelable.

**⭐ Key point:**

Only the quantities not covered by retained warehouse orders are recalculated and submitted to the routing rules. There is no risk of duplicate shipments on lines that have already been processed.

#### 2.2 Trigger events

Partial rerouting runs automatically in the following situations:

- **External item update (e.g. Shopify POS):** adding a product, changing a quantity, or changing a location. Lines that have already been shipped remain frozen; the rest is rerouted.
- **Warehouse rejection:** only the rejected warehouse order is canceled and then rerouted, without affecting the other warehouses.
- **Error status:** when a warehouse order goes into error (with the cancellation option enabled), it is rerouted as soon as all cancelable orders have been canceled.

#### 2.3 Manual rerouting

From the **Warehouses** tab of the customer order, the *Retry routing* and *Manual routing* actions support partially routed orders in order to redirect the remaining lines.

**💬 Good to know:**

While a partial rerouting is being processed, some flows are temporarily frozen (e.g. Ship from Store, super supplier switch) to ensure the consistency of stocks and statuses.

### 3. Activating automatic partial rerouting

To activate the feature on your Shippingbo OMS account, please request activation from support [here](https://support.shippingbo.com/?hsLang=fr).

(((

1. Go to **Configuration** \> **Account**.
2. Go to the section **Beta features**.
3. Check the option **Enable partial rerouting** (or *Enable partial re-routing*).
4. Save your changes.

**💡 Tip:**

Remember to check in your Reseller sheets that the cancellation option on status *In error* or *Preparing* is checked if you want to widen the scope of orders that can be rerouted.

)))

### 4. Practical example

A customer places an order containing 2 items A and 1 item B:

1. Item A is routed to Warehouse 1 and goes to status **Shipped**.
2. Item B is routed to Warehouse 2 with status **Awaiting stock**.
3. An update from the POS adds 1 item C to the customer order.
4. **Result:** Warehouse order 1 (Item A) remains unchanged and shipped. Warehouse order 2 is canceled, and items B and C are rerouted together to the most suitable warehouse.
5. The overall status of the OMS order is automatically recalculated as **Partially shipped**.

**⚒️ Framework and responsibilities:**

Before fully using the feature described in this tutorial, we strongly recommend running **a test phase** with your own settings to check that the result matches your expectations. As the customer remains **fully responsible** for the actions carried out in the Shippingbo account, these tests are essential to use the tool with complete peace of mind.
