How do movements between locations work? #### 3.1 Default behavior When receiving products, the number of products can be substantial, which means a temporary location must be used so that the receipt can be processed at a later stage. If you receive the products into a temporary location, you will therefore need to carry out a location-to-location stock movement to put your products into their corresponding picking location. **The default behavior** is to perform **one stock movement per product** via the PDA. However, for any stock movement from one location to another, you must scan the starting location and the destination location. In other words, if your temporary location contains several different product references, **a stock movement session** is **required for each product reference** (regardless of the quantities of these products). It is therefore necessary to scan the starting location and the destination location for each product moved.   #### 3.2 Optimal configuration This process can be optimized because, during receiving, the expected receipt can contain a large number of different product references. Systematically scanning the starting and destination locations for each product can be tedious. To simplify this process, it is therefore recommended to request the activation of the option ***Allow drop-off by product during a full location movement*** from the support team. This option makes it possible, when moving from one location to another, to take all the products in the location into account in the stock movement. ➡️ With this option enabled, **all the products in the location** are **taken into account in the movement** from one location to another. ➡️ So with this option, **it is no longer necessary** to start **a new stock movement session for each product reference**. This means that it is no longer necessary to scan the starting and destination locations for each product, **this scan** only needs to be performed **once**, **regardless of the number of product references moved**.     ### 4. How do you enable the receiving optimization (the location-to-location stock movement feature)? **4.1** Request activation of the required setting  This feature requires the option ***Allow drop-off by product during a full location movement*** to be activated by our support team. You can ask them to activate this option [here](https://support.shippingbo.com/?hsLang=fr).   **4.2** Allow multi-product on the starting and destination locations Once the option is enabled in your Shippingbo space, you can check **Multi-Product** in the relevant locations. Practical example **Context**: You are an e-merchant and have just received goods to put into stock. The expected receipt is large, and your activity does not allow you to finalize the receipt immediately. ➡️ You place all the products in the same temporary location. ➡️ Later, you perform a location-to-location stock movement, from your temporary location to your picking locations. ➡️ Thanks to this feature, you can carry out several stock movements in one, without having to scan the starting and destination locations for each product reference.       **⚒️ Recommendation:**  Before fully using the feature described in this tutorial, we strongly recommend running **a test phase** with your own settings to check that the result matches your expectations.
