Prerequisites - Only available for customers using a carrier that supports parcel insurance and who have subscribed to this service. **Compatible carriers that support insurance:** - Standard carriers: Amazon Shipping, Chronopost, Colis Privé, Correos Express, Dachser, DB Schenker, DHL, DHL Parcel Connect, DPD By API, Envoi du Net, Envoi Moins Cher, FedEx, Geodis, Geodis By API, Heppner, Kuehne, La Poste, MRW, SBO Generic Dispor, Teliae, TNT. - Transport contracts via Label Providers. (((conditional insurance if allow\_insurance is enabled))) ⭐ **Key point:** Make sure **with your carrier that your contract supports parcel insurance** before configuring this option. ➡️ Also, if you ship multi-parcel, check **how your contract provides for multi-parcel insurance**.   ### 3. How does Parcel insurance management work? Insurance management lets you insure parcels when the label is created or via a default configuration in your Shippingbo account. It can be enabled depending on the carrier and a minimum amount for the parcels to be insured. *Example*: If you have a parcel worth €150, you can add insurance for this parcel when creating the label or set a minimum amount above which all your parcels will be automatically insured. **💬 Good to know:**  Find out how to connect our partner [Secursus](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/connecter-secursus?hsLang=fr) to your Shippingbo account to insure your shipments with ease!   ### 4. Enable Parcel insurance management To enable insurance on your parcels, you must enable it in your carrier's settings: 1. Go to the menu **Connectors** \> **Transport contracts** \> **Your carrier configurations**. 2. Go into the relevant carrier service, then uncheck the option ***Disable insurance*** in the category **Parcel and insurance**, this will enable insurance on your shipments: ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Nov-07-2024-09-45-42-3703-AM.png?width=394&height=142&name=image-png-Nov-07-2024-09-45-42-3703-AM.png) *Example*: If you want to enable insurance for your Colissimo shipments, go to **Your carrier configurations** Colissimo and uncheck the box ***Disable insurance***. - **✅ Box checked:** Shippingbo does not send **any insurance information** to the carrier when the label is generated for this service, even if a minimum insurance value is set in your account. - **❌ Box unchecked:** Insurance is active and the insured value data is sent to the carrier for this service as soon as the value conditions are met or entered manually.   ### 5. Use **Parcel insurance management** #### 5.1 Enter the insured amount There are two ways to enter insurance for your parcels (for services where insurance is not disabled): - **When generating the order label** When creating the label, you can enter the insured value in the field **Edit insurance information if you want to insure the shipment**: ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Nov-08-2024-08-11-58-0683-AM.png?width=670&height=59&name=image-png-Nov-08-2024-08-11-58-0683-AM.png) ➡️ For this solution, the **picking control** is always **recommended** to properly **check the value of the insured parcel**. **💬 Good to know:** For insurance on a multi-parcel order, each parcel must have its field **Insured value (cents)** and **Insured value currency** filled in: ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Nov-13-2025-08-55-44-9466-AM.png?width=670&height=235&name=image-png-Nov-13-2025-08-55-44-9466-AM.png) ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Nov-13-2025-08-54-52-6573-AM.png?width=670&height=201&name=image-png-Nov-13-2025-08-54-52-6573-AM.png) ⚠️ **Make sure your insurance contract allows multi-parcel insurance**. ⚠️   - **Enter a default minimum value for all parcels** Go to the menu **Configurations -\> Logistics** and enter the value in the field **Minimum value for insurance** (to be entered in cents): ![](https://knowledge.shippingbo.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Nov-07-2024-10-04-43-5417-AM.png?width=670&height=37&name=image-png-Nov-07-2024-10-04-43-5417-AM.png) *Example*: If you set a minimum value of 10000 (i.e. €100), all your parcels worth more than €100 will be automatically insured (unless the service has the option ***Disable insurance*** checked). ⭐ **Key point:** This option applies by default to **all your carrier accounts.**  If you do not want to enable insurance for all your carrier contracts, you must disable it manually in the configurations of the carriers concerned.    #### 5.2 Check the insurance amount on the generated invoice If you manage insurance, you will need to check on the next invoice that the amount matches your expectations.
