The 1D barcode scanners allow you to scan linear barcodes, from left to right, which is ideal if you only have standard EANs on your products.

The 2D barcode scanners allow you to scan two-dimensional codes and, in addition, to scan damaged, scratched or crumpled barcodes more accurately, as they offer greater readability.
