This feature allows you to create several personalised notifications for your orders, so that your different users can subscribe to them directly.
Creating notification types
To access it, go to Configuration → Notifications and Labels → Notification types.
Then, click on the ‘Add’ button to create a new notification type. All the fields are free, so it's up to you to create a notification to suit your needs.
Here we'll take the example of a new customer placing their first order and including free samples in the order.
Subscribing to a notification
Once you have created your different notification templates, each user can decide to subscribe to the notification they want, simply by ticking the corresponding box in the ‘subscribe to notification’ column. When a notification is added to an order, the user who has subscribed to it will be notified by email and/or will be able to view it in the ‘Internal messages’ tab of the order.
Adding an internal message to an order
To add internal messages to your orders, you can either create them manually or import them.
1. Adding messages manually
Step 1 : In order to do this, go to the details of the desired order, then to the ‘Messages’ tab:
Step 2 : Then click on the ‘Add’ button and select the appropriate pre-designed message in the ‘Event type’ field.
If you also want the message to appear on the packing slip, tick the ‘Display on packing slip’ option, before clicking ‘Validate’:
CAREFUL If you need to write a unique message for an order, you can click directly on the ‘Add’ button and fill in the ‘Titles’ and ‘Messages’ fields without needing to select a choice from the drop-down list in the ‘Event types’ field. |
The message is now created and can be viewed directly in the Shippingbo order, and all users who have subscribed to this notification will also receive an email alerting them to the message.
2. Adding messages by import
If you want to add several messages to several orders at once, you can create them by upload.
Step 1 : In order to do that, go to Configuration -> Files management -> Upload -> Order event and clic on "Upload file" :
Step 2 : Fill in the file with the following information :
- orderId : Shippingbo ID of the order to which you want to add the message
- eventType : always keep external_message
- level : fill in info if it's just an information message, and fill in error if it's an error.
- message : insert the message of the order
- display_ps_enabled: fill in true if you want the message to also appear on the packing slip, and false if you don't want it to appear on the packing slip.
Step 3 : Once your file is ready, upload it by clicking on "Drop or select a file" and "Upload" :
Propagate internal messages in Multi Shippingbo
If you are connected to other Shippingbo accounts, then you can propagate the internal messages present on the orders to the Seller or Warehouse accounts to which you are connected.
To do this, go to the Seller or Warehouse tab in the Shippingbo side menu and activate the ‘Send order messages to seller/warehouse’ option.
