Using hazardous materials in Shippingbo
Once you have added all of the information on hazardous materials on Shippingbo, they will be linked to your designated products. This implies that when a product containing hazardous materials is shipped, a document containing all of the information will be added to your packing slip. The document includes a summary of the hazardous materials contained in the shipping.
Each hazardous material (n° ONU) is assigned to a category (column 15 of the tab A of the ADR). There are 5 different categories that each define a maximum quantity allowed in on e vehicle :
-
Category 0 = forbidden
-
Category 1 = 20 litres or kg (50 kg for some products)
-
Category 2 = 333 litres or kg
-
Category 3 = 1000 litres or kg
-
Category 4 = unlimited (also takes into account empty and not cleaned packages that have contained a product with a category 1, 2 or 3). This one is not taken into account in Shippingbo.
If the value that is calculated (quantity x coefficient) exceeds a certain threshold,it will be mentioned at the bottom of the document so you can assure that the vehicle transporting it is equipped accordingly.
You can find all of the information related to hazardous materials in the following file :https://unece.org/DAM/trans/danger/publi/adr/adr2005/French/Partie3b-TableauA.pdf
