MONDIAL RELAY: ERROR WHEN GENERATING A RETURN LABEL: THE RECIPIENT'S ADDRESS COMPLEMENT IS INVALID

You are trying to generate a return label with Mondial Relay, but you receive the following error:

MondialRelayApi::Client::MondialRelayError: 34-The recipient's address complement is invalid. (Probably the rue2 field.) Please check that the fields contain only non-accented alphanumeric characters.

This is a generic error message that can indicate several issues with the original destination address of the order (that is, not the recipient of the return, which is you, but the recipient of the outbound shipment, the buyer).

Solution: this error can indicate a problem with accents; in this case, make sure the address does not contain any accents.

💠 Note:

It can also indicate a problem with the number of characters in a field (indicated in the error message). Mondial Relay imposes a maximum of 32 characters (spaces included) per field. You therefore need to check that each address field contains fewer than 32 characters.
